Zhejiang University establishes International Business School

The Asia Pacific FinTech Landscape Symposium and the inaugural ceremony for ZJU's International Business School were held on International Campus located in Haining on November 15.  

“The establishment of International Business School is one of the major advances that Zhejiang University has made in promoting its educational level and optimizing its educational layout. I believe it will make great contributions to the socio-economic development of the province, even the whole country. I hope that it will adopt a grand strategy for social services, create a leading brand in international cooperation and build a successful team in disciplinary construction,” said ZHU Congjiu, vice governor of Zhejiang Province

“I hope that International Business School will be committed to promoting the joint development of emerging finance, technologies and industries and make considerable contributions to regional development," said ZJU President WU Zhaohui. "We should highlight more outstanding disciplinary qualities in line with the strategic demands of new business studies, embrace a more inclusive spirit in the age of globalization and serve as a more typical yardstick for education which caters to the strategic needs of industrialization." 

Marked by cross-border education, International Business School will construct a multi-level ecological system incorporating a network of world-renowned universities and institutions. It will make the most of such strategic opportunities as the integration of the Yangtze River Delta Area and the development of the Greater Bay Area in Zhejiang, implement a ZJU-based “1+N” multi-institutional, multi-disciplinary and multi-level partnership strategy, and focus on research and talent cultivation in the domains of emerging finance, retailing, technologies, industries and markets.   


"International Business School will aim at connecting global networks, promoting scientific and technological development and cementing close ties with world-class partners," said BEN Shenglin, dean of International Business School in an interview.

On the same day, International Business School also signed a cooperative agreements with Cambridge Judge Business School and Ascential—a British specialist, global, information company.  

At the Asia Pacific FinTech Landscape Symposium, Zhejiang University, the University of Cambridge and Asian Development Bank released a joint research paper. Scholars and experts held a heated roundtable discussion on "Innovation in financial technologies".
