Prof. XU Jianming named American Society of Agronomy Fellow

At the annual meeting of the American Society of Agronomy (ASA) on November 5 in Baltimore, Prof. XU Jianming from the College of Environmental and Resource Sciences was named a Fellow of the American Society of Agronomy.

Established in 1907, ASA is the most influential professional society of crop and soil scientists, educators and practitioners who work to discovery and apply agronomic solutions to feed and sustain the world. Being designated a fellow is among the society’s top honors and just 0.3 percent of the society’s active and emeritus members may be elected fellows.

Prof. XU Jianming teaches soil science, biogeochemistry and environmental quality & safety of agricultural products to undergraduates and postgraduates. His research focuses on soil geobiochemistry and soil pollution. He is an author of more than 240 articles in scientific journals and 7 books and has led more than 10 national-level projects.
