ZJU salutes educators on Teachers' Day

In recognition of the importance of excellent educators, Zhejiang University celebrated the 35th Chinese Teachers' Day. Observed annually on Sept. 10, the day is dedicated to appreciating, assessing and improving educators across the country. It's also an opportunity to honor the teachers for their contribution to the learning commuity of ZJU. This year, more than 250 teams and teachers received acknowledgement from Zhejiang province or various ministries of China.


Here are some recent stories about ways ZJU has been working to ensure that our students have access to the best-prepared educators:

ZJU welcomes new hires at New Faculty Orientation: A gathering to help the faculty in their transition to ZJU and support their readiness to teach and do research.

Renowned Chinese scientist WU Xifeng joins ZJU: A world-class epidemiologist recruited by the University.

A stage that fosters connections: In partnership with the University of Texas at Austin, The Global Classrooms Project: Shakespeare kicked off in spring of 2018 for our students.

ZJU pedagogical frontline – VR course with Harvard: In a joint archaeology course with Harvard University, the physical barriers are overcome with the help of Virtual Reality (VR) technology.

Professor Diffie delivers his first undergraduate lesson on Yuquan Campus: Sophomores enjoyed the lecture brought by pioneer of public-key cryptography and Turing Laureate Bailey Whitfield Diffie.
